Overhang Phased Opening
We will be operating on a reduced capacity to begin with and slowly increasing this over time to ensure we are still covid safe.
Climbing or bouldering sessions must be pre-booked and we are offering 2 hour slots and a few 3hour slots. You will need to check-in at reception and try not to be late for your session as your time will not be extended.
We ask that customers please leave the Centre promptly at the end of their session so we can sanitise ready for the next session.
Please do not come climbing if you have any COVID19 symptoms.
Facemasks must be worn within the Centre unless you are climbing, eating or you are exempt for medical reasons.
Arrive at the Centre ready to climb. Changing cubicles will be closed for the time being.
Please use the hand sanitiser provided on entry and exit of the Centre and wash your hands regularly.
No loose chalk is permitted but liquid chalk or a chalk ball in a bag is ok.
Please be considerate of other climbers and social distance, both on and off the wall.
Currently we have to separate the climbing and bouldering areas to keep to social distancing guidelines and you will not be able to climb and boulder within the same session. Please book either a climbing or bouldering session.
When climbing on top ropes or lead, please keep at least one rope line between climbers.
We will be accepting bookings from competent 18+ climbers Under 18s will be able to book and visit the centre as long as they have a competent adult with them to supervise. The supervising adult must book a space even if they are not climbing themselves but don’t worry you won’t be charged. Just make sure to inform a member of staff on arrival.
Currently we do not have the capacity to allow spectators in to watch but hopefully this will change soon.
There will be a limit of 2 children per 1 competent adult supervisor.
Children must be supervised at all times when climbing and on the floor. If Overhang staff deem that supervision is not being strictly adhered to or there is a safety risk we may ask you to stop climbing.
14-17 years old competent climbers will be able to book once they have completed their sign-off session with an instructor (sessions to be announced soon).
All participants will have to complete an Acknowledgment of Risk form. Please do this online before you visit the Centre to minimise waiting times. When you visit the centre please go to reception.
Climbing shoes are now compulsory and are available to hire from reception for £3. Unfortunately, we do not have any harnesses or belay devices to hire at the moment so please make sure you bring your own. For instructed sessions, all equipment will be provided as part of the session.
In line with guidelines, in the event of a confirmed Covid-19 case within our facilities, we will be asked to share customer data for those who were in the building for that specific period. If you do not want your data used in this way then unfortunately you will not be able to use the centre facilities at this time.
We are really sorry for all the rules and regulations but we have worked hard to ensure that our Centre is Covid secure ahead of our opening. We will gradually increase our capacity numbers (staying within Government guidelines) and start introducing instructed sessions, kids clubs etc. We appreciate your patience in the strange time we find ourselves in and look forward to welcoming you all to the Overhang Climbing Centre.
